Welcome! |
I have been teaching school for over 30 years and have been involved in the Christian school movement on the North Shore since 1978. I have been instrumental in helping to establish 2 new schools: Covenant Christian School (now academy) and Beacon Christian Academy. I served as principal of BCA for 9 years before returning to the classroom prior to its merger with NSCS seven years ago.
My roles at NSCS are varied. In addition to teaching Kindergarten, I am also the school chaplain, lead teacher for lower elementary education, and Spanish teacher for grades 3-6. I have been married for almost 46 years. I have 3 grandchildren: Jared, 17; Jordan 13; and Josiah who is almost 11. My grandchildren are the joy of my heart. I am a passionate worshipper and play the autoharp. I am an artist, I love to garden and walk on the beach. My favorite kind of food is seafood, but I also have a sweet tooth, especially for anything chocolate! When I was a child, I had a deep hunger to know and worship God. I had a sense of God’s call on my life at an early age. However, I did not grow up in a Christian home and when I asked to go to church, my parents told me, no. At age 9 I knew I wanted to be a teacher. At age 22, someone told me how to have a relationship with God and I reached out to Him and He reached back filling my heart with His love. Finding Jesus and living out my life’s passion as a teacher, is the perfect blend of my calling and my gift-utilization. Jesus said, “Let the children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the Kingdom of Heaven.” It is my desire that not one child be told no when they want to know more about God and His world. Your child has entered a YES zone! Yes to God, yes to learning, yes to questions, yes to exploring their environment inside and out, and yes to being loved and nurtured! |
